Protein Works Taste Test - Whey Protein 80 CHOCOLATE SILK

Hi guys, welcome to another taste test video

This is where I try out different protein products and try and give you a clear understanding

as to what the product actually tastes like to save you spending money on something that you might not like

So, today I'm trying out the Protein Works Whey Protein AT Concentrate

Now, this is a low-carb, low-fat, as expected, and high-protein shake. Each serving, I believe, gives you 20.6 grams of protein

which is actually really good. And I'm going to try it out with both water and milk

So, here goes. on the front of the packet obviously you've got whey protein concentrate here okay gluten-free

wheat-free vegetarian if that's something that you need to look out for 20.6 grams of protein

1.6 grams of carbs and 101 calories per serving okay so on the back it says in the directions we

recommend three to five servings per day depending upon your own individual needs exactly so if your

numbers require you to take that sort of level of protein or that those sorts of numbers of

protein then by all means do it but if you're taking protein and you don't know

your numbers I mean when I say numbers I mean how much protein you need to be

aiming for per day then you don't need to be buying protein you need to get your

numbers right before you start drinking protein otherwise buying a protein powder may be a waste of money if you're getting too much protein or if you're

getting not enough protein you're not gonna see results in the way that you want to so make sure that you you do a little research or you speak to a trainer

or whatever and you know exactly what how much protein you're getting so the

ingredients seem pretty simple you've got them whey protein concentrate which comes from milk natural flavoring fat reduced cocoa powder sweetener and the

emulsifier which is soya lecithin so I take two scoops per protein serving now

that might not be what you do but me personally I take two suits but on the

directions here it says take one scoop so I'm gonna go by their instructions and

I'm gonna take one scoop and I'm gonna try it with water first and then milk

after most protein companies suggest water or milk but if you making a big and you mixing it with juice or you mixing it with almond milk or any other milk it fine I mean as long as it tastes to how you like it it fine

I mean, you can use milk, but if you use milk or juice, just bear in mind that it's very likely that it will have more sugar in it

So keep an eye on your carbs if you're trying not to aim for too many carbs or whatever

Just make sure you know what's in the liquid that you're drinking your protein shake with

because it's very easy to drink your calories without even knowing. They say 150 to 225 millilitres of water

Okay, one large scoop. And I'm going to shake it for 15 seconds

just going to test if it's got any clumps in it. That is very smooth

I don't know if you can see that. There's literally no clumps in that. It's very smooth

Taste it. Okay, it goes down very smooth

What does it taste like? I should have mentioned before, this is the chocolate silk flavor

It tastes like hot chocolate, like cold hot chocolate that's not been sweetened

Chocolate drinking powder that's been really watered down. There's no real sort of highs of sugar in there

It doesn't really taste like a dessert. You could drink that and then five minutes after you wouldn't know that you've drank

chocolate whey protein. It doesn't have much of an aftertaste. It's really quite neutral

It's not very distinct at all and it doesn't give you a kick in the face. It's clear that they've not tried to do too much with the taste

not putting loads of ingredients to try and mask or try and add anything that

seems a bit unnatural That tasted that tasted fine There no taste of chocolate in my mouth It all gone There no aftertaste Milk always changes the perspective

because milk is a lot thicker and milk has a lot more ingredients than, of course, water

So who knows what milk will taste like? So let's go again. 225 milliliters of liquid

And this is semi-skimmed milk, zero lactose, if that makes any difference

I'm a lactose-free, lactose-intolerant person. so yeah, I can't drink normal milk

Let me know if you've tried this one, if this is something you swear by because I'm always

interested to know what people think of this protein. Let's go for a generous scoop

Is that generous enough? And yeah, I'm using one of these. It does the same job as a steel ball, by mixing up whatever's in the jug without making all

the obvious racket. Boom, okay

Oops, filled up a bit too much. But that seems very, not very clumpy at all, there are literally no clumps in that

That tastes more like hot chocolate and I really like that because it's very smooth

That tastes nice. It's a lot better with milk. The flavour is chocolate silk and you can really, if you ask me what chocolate silk tastes

like I would say that is the taste. It sort of reminds me of Galaxy chocolate, like the smoothness

It's really smooth with milk. With water you don't feel it as much, with water it just feels like watered down hot chocolate

but with milk it tastes a lot more, a lot richer. There's still no aftertaste, but with milk

I would say it tastes a lot better. Let finish the last bit there Like I said I very impressed at the fact that there no clumps in that

15 seconds of shaking it, there's no clumps in that. In my view that's a really good quality protein powder

No clumps, no thickness, no medicine taste. It tastes really nice. Very smooth with milk and with water

The taste is really nice. The silkiness is more tasteable when you use it with milk and the price is decent as well

One kilogram which is this bag, this size bag, I paid £17, £18 for a bag which I think

is decent. One thing that the Protein Works do is that they offer 500 gram bags for I think £10

10 or 11 pounds. So if you're not looking to make a huge commitment into buying a big

2kg or 1kg bag, you can actually go for a smaller bag. So if it does taste horrible

you're not stuck with it for weeks and weeks. So to sum up, I really like this protein powder. I normally take two scoops, but with this

I've taken one scoop and the taste was really good. Nothing too much, nothing too heavy

No real aftertaste that would make me lose my appetite or feel bloated so that I don't

want to eat again. I really feel like I could drink this easily three times, three, four, five times a day

if I needed to, if my numbers were suited to that amount of protein

And it tastes great with milk and water. So yeah, that was my review of the Protein Works Whey Protein AT Concentrate
