Quick Smoothie Recipe: Raspberry Blast

This is an awesome quick smoothie recipe that can be put together and taken at any time of the day, have it in the morning for breakfast, lunch or in the evening.

This raspberry smoothie is packed full of healthy nutrients and is VERY easy to make. No fancy obscure ingredients that you cant find in your average supermarket either.

Feel free to be creative, tweak it, maybe you prefer blueberries or even strawberries to raspberries. There are no rules.

Quick Nutritional Breakdown

RASPBERRIES

Sweet and colourful. Raspberries are high in vitamin C, are high in antioxidants and also rich in potassium which is good for the heart and blood pressure. Frozen or fresh it doesn’t matter.

AVOCADO

High in the good fats, high in minerals high in fibre and keeps your tummy satisfied for a long time. This will stave off your hunger. Also high in potassium which balances the fluids and electrolyte levels in the body.

SPINACH

Spinach is high in iron, which helps the body to maintain high energy levels necessary for you to have a decent workout and not be totally drained for the rest of the day.

HONEY

A natural carb source, which provides you with quick releasing energy.

WHEY PROTEIN

The building blocks for muscle repair. We went with one scoop of ‘ON Nutritions Gold Standard Whey French Vanilla flavor‘, mainly because it doesn’t overpower the flavour from all of the other ingredients in the smoothie.

OLIVE OIL

Olive oil is high in monounsaturated fatty acids. You may be alarmed at the word ‘fat’ but these are the good fats, saturated and trans fats are the bad ones. Introducing olive oil into your diet is good for your heart and cardiovascular health.

GREEK YOGHURT

High in protein and full of probiotics for a healthy gut. Probiotics are bacteria microbes that help improve your digestive function and your immune system.
